We are educators who want to share knowledge with families. We believe families are their children's first teachers.
Intentional Parent began with founder Helen Barahal's vision to educate and support parents and caregivers raising children by teaching them techniques and strategies used by good early childhood teachers. Creating and delivering professional learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders across the country she saw firsthand that many things early childhood teachers were doing in the classroom, could be done by families at home - if only families knew what to do.
“Families really are their child's first teachers. But they need support.”
— Helen Barahal, FOUNDER
Helen got other educators and professional learning specialists involved, forming a collective of individuals from diverse backgrounds united around the idea of helping parents be more intentional while raising their children.
Families are crucial to their children's learning and development. To support families of all backgrounds, Intentional Parent seeks to provide families with information, strategies, and techniques used by great educators so that families can use these best practices at home.
Using simple practical techniques at home will support your child in school and life. You are the key to your child's success.
